Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers that restore lost volume, smooth deeper lines, and gently define lips, cheeks, and jawline. Placed with precision by our board-certified nurse practitioner, for results that look natural, never overfilled.

How dermal fillers work

With age, the face gradually loses collagen and natural volume. Cheeks flatten, lines around the mouth deepen, and lips thin. Dermal fillers replace what's been lost with a smooth hyaluronic acid gel, restoring softness and shape from the inside out.

Our Approach

At St. Johns Wellness, filler is never applied by formula. Our board-certified nurse practitioner studies how your face is built and where volume has changed, then places small, precise amounts exactly where they’ll make a difference. The aim is balance and proportion, so you look refreshed rather than filled.

We use hyaluronic acid fillers, the same substance your skin produces naturally, so they integrate smoothly with your own tissue. Results are visible immediately and refine over the first two weeks as any mild swelling settles. Most patients return to their day right after the visit.

Where we treat

Fillers work best when they're subtle. We treat the areas that have lost support over time and leave everything else exactly as it is.

Candidacy

Am I a good candidate for dermal fillers?

Fillers are ideal for lines and hollows that stay even when your face is relaxed. You’re likely a good candidate if you:

Every visit begins with a consultation, where our nurse practitioner examines your features, listens to your goals, and recommends only what will make a real difference. Treatment isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there’s an active infection in the area.

What to expect

Results you'll see the same day

Plan for 30 to 60 minutes, including a consultation and numbing. The injections themselves are quick and well tolerated. Expect some swelling or a small bruise for a few days; it’s normal and fades on its own. Results are visible the same day and settle into their final shape over one to two weeks.

FAQs

Good to know before you book

Fillers at St. Johns Wellness start at $XXX per syringe, and consultations are free. Most patients use one to two syringes per area; lips typically need one, while cheeks or jawline often need two or more for balanced results. Our nurse practitioner will give you an exact quote during your consultation, before anything is injected, so there are no surprises.

Most hyaluronic acid fillers last 6 to 18 months, depending on the product, the area, and how quickly your body metabolizes it. Lips tend to last around 6 to 12 months because they move so much, while cheeks and jawline often hold for a year or longer. Regular maintenance can extend results over time.

Most patients describe it as mild pressure or a quick pinch. We apply a numbing cream before treatment, and the fillers we use contain lidocaine, which numbs the area as it’s placed. Some areas, like the lips, are a bit more sensitive, but the whole process is quick and very manageable.

Botox relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, like frown lines and crow’s feet. Fillers restore volume that’s been lost with age, smoothing folds, lifting cheeks, and shaping lips or the jawline. Many patients benefit from both, and they can be done in the same visit.

Immediately. You’ll notice the change before you leave the office. There may be some swelling for a few days, especially in the lips, so the final result settles in over one to two weeks. That’s when the filler has fully integrated and you’ll see the true shape.

For the first 24 to 48 hours, skip strenuous exercise, saunas, alcohol, and anything that puts pressure on the treated area. Sleep with your head slightly elevated, avoid makeup for a day, and don’t massage the area unless we tell you to. Mild swelling or bruising is normal and fades within a few days.

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you’re unhappy with the result or in the rare case of a complication. It’s one of the reasons we prefer this type of filler: results are adjustable and never permanent.

Yes, and many patients do. Combining the two addresses both movement lines and volume loss in one visit, which often gives a more balanced, complete result. Our nurse practitioner will map out what makes sense for you during your consultation.
